  1. When should I book my trip?
    Our bookings fill up quickly, so please reserve your spot well in advance. Many of our clients book a year in advance to make sure they get the dates they want. All we need is your credit card number or a cheque to reserve your spot.
  2. What is your booking and cancellation policy?
    Booking a trip with West Coast River Charters is easy. Call or email us with the dates that you are interested in and we'll check on availability. If the dates are open, a 50% deposit on your credit card will guarantee your reservation.

    Cancelling:
    50% non-refundable deposit. Over 30 days you can rebook for the remainder of the season you have booked in. Anything under 30 days you will be charged in full.
  3. When can I fish and what will I catch?
    A: Our waters will provide anglers with year-round fishing. You'll catch magnificent salmons in our oceans, and our renowned steelheads in our rivers. Below is a chart of when/what you can expect to catch through out the year.

  4. How's the fishing?
    The forecast calls for another fantastic fishing season for 2010. However conditions do vary weekly, and even daily. Feel free to contact us for an honest assessment of current fishing conditions.
  5. What do I need to bring?
    Fishing License, food/snack for the trip, warm clothing & rainwear (in case it rains). You will also need a large cooler to transport your catch home. We'll supply all your fishing gear and equipment.
  6. Where do we meet up?
    If you're staying in town, we'll be glad to pick you up and drive you to the marina. If you are coming in from out of town, please meet us at Clutesi Haven Marina (5104 River Road, Port Alberni) at the appointed time.
  7. Can I bring my own fishing rod?
    Yes, you're welcome to bring your own rod. The only thing we ask is that it's setup and ready to go. We'll also have our rods available should you want to try them.
  8. Can an experienced angler benefit from your charter?
    Absolutely. Many of our client are experienced anglers. They love that we can offer them a weeks worth of fishing in 1 day. No more wading through miles of frigid waters, only to be "almost" at a fishing hole. Our jet boats will carry you to all the hot spots quickly and precisely. We do the steering. You do the fishing.
  9. What if I have never fished before?
    No problem. We love guiding novice anglers and helping you discover the joy of fishing. Not only will you experience the breath-taking beauty of our scenery and wildlife, but you'll also catch a lot of action, learn about gear and equipment, reading the water, fighting the fish, and good fishing etiquette.
  10. How do I bring my fish home?
    We will clean and bag your catch for you to take home. We can also arrange for your catch to be vacuum sealed and deep freezed at a local shop. Most lodgings in town will have freezer facilities for you to store your catch, as well as ice for you to pack your fish in a cooler when you are ready to go home.
